The paper aims to complete processing of supporting mould in two-point incremental forming rapidly, fast and effectively. A 3D printing equipment was adopted for mould processing. Moulds processed were taken as support to form 1mm thick aluminum plates through incremental forming of sheet metal. Eight specimen points were selected to measure the wall thickness of the workpiece and compared with parts completed with ordinary moulds. Then the forming precision of the workpiece formed by 3D mould was analyzed. Through analysis of experimental data, variation of plate wall thickness was completely in accordance with the sine law, and the arithmetic mean of the absolute value of the forming precision of the theoretical contour and the actual contour was basically in line with the production requirements. The two-point incremental forming process which is combined with the 3D printing technology is fully feasible. Compared with the conventional mould, this method saves the cost of mould processing and reduces the time of incremental forming. |
