      Multiple forging is a potential severe plastic deformation technique for grain refinement and improvement of mechanical properties. The research progress of grain refinement of magnesium alloys by multiple forging was reviewed, and the technological process of multiple forging and grain refinement mechanism was described. The development prospects of this technique was also discussed.
