Friction stir welding (FSW) has been widely applied in low melting alloys such as aluminum alloys. However, FSW for high temperature materials such as titanium and titanium alloys is still under research and development. In this paper, the progress in the FSW of titanium and titanium alloys was reviewed from the aspects of welding tool design, microstructure and mechanical properties of welded joint and welding process simulation, which offers reference for the application of FSW for titanium and titanium alloys. |
