By analyzing the techniques of heat treatment and surface peening, the paper concludes that the serious gear deforming (commonly referred as deformation of gear) is due to the use of surface nitriding process which causes the destruction of the mechanical properties based on quenching and tempering and the following hardness decreasing. It puts forward a method to solve the problem by high-frequency surface hardening. |
