This paper introduces the process, die, blank and tool designs on cold rolling of small and medium module gears, the analyzation of the structure characteristics of the steering gears in the traversing mechanism of automobile , the key techniques of manufacture of gears by cold rolling. The cold rolling process and the roller for the teering gear are designed. The installing and adjusting of the dies and tools are carried out, and experiments are made. The rolled parts meet the needs of the customer.
